No momento do depósito do instrumento de ratificação, Portugal declarou reconhecer, nos termos dos artigos 21.º, n.º1 e 22.º, n.º1, da Convenção, respetivamente, as competências do Comité contra a Tortura para receber e analisar comunicações dos Estados Partes no sentido de que outro Estado Parte não está a cumprir as suas obrigações decorrentes da Convenção e comunicações apresentadas por ou em nome de particulares sujeitos à sua jurisdição e que afirmem ter sido vítimas de violação, por um Estado Parte, das disposições da Convenção.
Emendas ao artigo 17.º, parágrafo 7, e ao artigo 18.º, parágrafo 5, da Convenção, de 08/09/1992 (ainda pendentes de entrada em vigor a 11/07/2018).
- Aviso de 05/06/1989 - torna público o depósito do instrumento de ratificação da Convenção
- Aviso n.º 16/2008, de 24/01/2008 - torna público ter Portugal efectuado, junto do Secretário-Geral da Organização das Nações Unidas, a 20/07/2001, uma comunicação relativa à reserva formulada pelo Quatar no momento da adesão à Convenção
